A particle generating a gravitational shockwave is depicted in red. When a probe particle crosses this shockwave, it experiences a null shift related to the shockwave momentum. The shockwave in turn experiences a shift due to the momentum of the probe. Such shockwaves may arise from vacuum fluctuations of quantum gravity, potentially leading to observable signals in interferometers.

The information paradox of black holes suggests a need to modify local quantum field theory; allowing for interactions to transfer quantum information from the black hole to the external state. Gravitational wave (GW) scattering on a quantum black hole (QBH) would be modified by such interactions. What are the minimal requirements to ensure unitary evolution and could that imply an observable signature in gravitational wave observations?

Traversable wormholes are impossible in classical gravity, but allowed in quantum gravity. Freivogel and collaborators constructed a traversable wormhole in asymptotically AdS spacetime, which could allow for tests of quantum gravity on quantum computers via the AdS/CFT correspondence.
